Nether Green Infant School

PE and Sports Funding

At Nether Green Infant School, we encourage all children to lead healthy lifestyles and promote physical activity throughout the curriculum. Our aim is for every child to leave our school having mastered the fundamental movement skills needed to access and enjoy a wide range of sporting opportunities in the future.

We recognise the significant value that physical education and sport bring to children's development. Evidence shows that high quality PE and sporting opportunities support learning across the curriculum, contribute to healthy and active lifestyles, promote positive behaviour, improve attendance, and develop important skills such as leadership, confidence, teamwork, and social interaction.

Each year, we receive funding specifically intended to improve PE and sport provision within the school. For the 2025–26 academic year, we anticipate receiving approximately £17,260.

Schools must use this funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer. This means that we use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to:

  • Develop and enhance the PE and sporting activities already offered by the school.
  • Build capacity and expertise within the school to ensure that improvements made now continue to benefit pupils in future years.

There are five key indicators that schools are required to work towards. Below, we have outlined our areas of focus and how we intend to use the funding to support these priorities.

For more detailed information, please see the documents below.
