Headteacher’s Welcome

I hope you all had a good half term. It has been lovely to welcome the children back into school this week. It has been lovely to hear about all the fun they had over half term. It has definitely felt very Autumnal this week and there has been great excitement as the children across school have been looking forward to bonfire and firework celebrations. It is always an exciting time of year which offers lots of creative learning opportunities across all areas of the curriculum.

School Values

This half term we will be focussing on the value ‘Kindness’. We will be teaching the children about how to show kindness to others both in school, at home and in the wider community. We will also reflect on whether behaviours are kind or unkind and how our actions and choices can impact the feelings of others. We will have some focussed assemblies about Kindness and all children will also be learning about it through part of their PSED sessions in class.

WE NEED YOUR HELP, PLEASE! Christmas Fair – Friday 27th November

Our after-school Christmas Fair is now just 3 weeks away and preparations are in full swing! We’d love your support to make it a fantastic event for the children and the whole school community. There are lots of ways you can help:

Bake or buy for our cake sale – Please remember that we are a nut-free school.

Donate outgrown school uniform or festive clothing – Including Christmas jumpers, pyjamas and other seasonal items.

Stock our Elfridges store – Donate unwanted gifts in new or like-new condition, suitable for all the family. The children will have the chance to buy presents for their loved ones or perhaps choose a little treat for themselves!

Volunteer your time – We’ll need plenty of helping hands to run the Elfridges store, cake and book sales and, hopefully, serve some festive refreshments too. If you can help, please let us know as soon as possible via the PTA WhatsApp group or by emailing nethergreeninfantschoolpta@gmail.com.

A huge thank you to everyone who has already offered to help or donate. Your support makes such a difference, and we really appreciate it!

JOIN US AT OUR NEXT PTA MEETING!

Our next PTA meeting is on Tuesday 10th November at 19:45 at The Florentine. If you’d like to help plan the Christmas Fair and other upcoming festive events, we’d love to see you there! Everyone is welcome, and you don’t need to commit to being a regular volunteer to come along. Whether you have ideas to share or can spare a little time to help, every contribution makes a difference. We’d love to see some new faces!

NEW:

Christmas Movie Night – Friday 4th December, 5–6.30pm

Santa’s Grotto – Monday 14th December, during the school day

Thanks to all those parents who were able to join us for our Phonics parent information talk on Wednesday morning. Well done to our group of Year 1s who did a super demonstration of how Phonics is taught in school. We are aware that not all parents were able to attend due to work commitments and so you can find all the information on our Foundation Stage page. (EYFS link).

This term the learning theme is ‘Celebrations’. You can find more information on our Foundation Stage Information Page

KS1

This term the learning theme in Y1 and Y2 is ‘Exploring our World- Cold Countries’. You can find more information on our KS1 learning information page.
