Headteacher's Welcome I hope you all had a lovely half term break - the children certainly seemed refreshed when they came back on Monday and full of tales about all the fun they have had. This term is always a very busy and exciting one - please spend a few minutes looking at the calendar to ensure you have all the important dates in your diary.
It is exciting to see the progress being made for our Preschool - the building work in the classroom is nearly finished and the front play area will be ready for action really soon! We are really looking forward to welcoming our Preschool children into our school community in January - we still have some places available so if you know anyone who is looking for a place they can still apply for January. Next week the KS1 children will be visiting the War Memorial in Fulwood; they will be making clay poppies too. The children will be displaying these outside on the bank in the playground from Wednesday so feel free to pop in after school one day to take a look. |

NEW: PTA Meeting – Next Tuesday 11th November We are very grateful to those that have volunteered to support the PTA events but we still need a PTA Chair and could do with a little more planning and admin support. Please do join us on Tuesday if you can help! Thanks: Dress As You Please – Wednesday 22nd October Thank you for supporting Dress As You Please day! It was great to see the children enjoying their, and each other’s, style choices!! Reminder: Christmas Fair – Friday 28th November, 3.20-4.30 pm Thanks to those that have already volunteered to support this event and have made kind donations. The box for any more donations is clearly marked and just inside at reception (out of the rain!). There’s still plenty of time to make donations of any unwanted gifts in new or like new condition so that the children can purchase gifts for their loved ones at the Elfridges store! We would also be very grateful for any outgrown school uniform and Christmas clothing (jumpers, pyjamas, etc.) - please bring these to the school office. Thanks: Christmas Cards The children’s fantastic Christmas card designs are now with Xmas4Schools. Once your child’s design is available for printing, parents will receive a unique order link to order products online. Everything you order will be delivered to school in early December, in plenty of time for Christmas! Reminder: Christmas Movie Night – Friday 5th December, 5-6.30 pm Earlier this week, the lovely Office Team shared more information about Christmas movie night. This year we will be showing the appropriately festive Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas. The cost is £6 per child and the deadline for confirming attendance and completing payment via ParentPay is Thursday 27th November. Reminder: Santa’s Grotto – Monday 15th December You will also have received more information about Father Christmas’ visit to school! The children will have the opportunity to visit him in his festive grotto in small groups during the normal school day. He will be giving them each a small gift! The cost is £4 per child and he deadline for confirming attendance and completing payment via ParentPay is Thursday 4th December.
NEW: Christmas Choir Concert – Tuesday 16th December, 6:30 pm If your child is in the Choir, I’m sure you’re really looking forward to their lovely Christmas Concert! Please do support the PTA by purchasing a cuppa and a delicious mince pie! Thanks to those that have kindly volunteered to staff this.
This year the PTA will funding the development of the play area at the back of the Kangaroos classroom. This will create a fun, problem-solving area for the children with a sandpit, tyres, pipes, etc. More info on the other ways we’ll be supporting the school to follow in future updates.
Please do support us in any way you can. If you’d like to join the PTA WhatsApp group or support us to deliver any of the events, please let us know by contacting us at nethergreeninfantschoolpta@gmail.com. |
