Headteacher's Welcome

This week has been Science Week! The children have taken part in a wide range of activities linked to all sort sorts of areas of Science. It has been great to have some parents in too to share their scientific knowledge with the children - thank you!

The Elephants class had a fabulous trip to the EIS on Monday where they were able to use their sporting skills to complete a range of activities - well done Elephants!

Preschool Open Morning - TOMORROW!

Parents' Evening Next Week

There are no clubs on Tuesday (Taekwondo & FabLab) and Thursday (Choir).

It is your opportunity to meet with your child's teacher next week to talk about the progress they have been making and look in their books.

Appointments will take place on Tuesday and Thursday after school. Parents should come into school via the main entrance.

If you have just had a SEND review with Mrs Stackhouse (or have one booked for next week) you do not need to book a parents evening appointment as well.

For After School Club pick up - please enter via the main entrance and go straight through to Penguins classroom to pick up your child.

Thanks so much for supporting our (day after!) World Book Day cake and book sale on Friday 6^th March! We were surprised and delighted to see the children enjoyed choosing a book as much as they enjoyed scoffing their cakes!! We hope they enjoy reading their books at home!

Thanks also to those that have already donated items for the Rainbow Raffle Hampers. We do still need a few more donations to make these multicoloured and fabulous! So if you have any unwanted gifts (food gifts, candles, bottles (wine or non-alcoholic drinks), beauty products, etc.) that you would be happy to donate, please bring these to the School Office as soon as you have chance! Just a reminder that the colours allocated for gift item donations to each year group are as follows:

Preschool Pink and Purple

Reception Red and Orange

Year 1 Yellow and Gold

Year 2 Blue and Green

Raffle tickets have been sent home in book bags. More can be purchased from the School Office and will be sold outside of school on Monday (16^th). The raffle will be drawn by Mrs Hawkins on the last day of term (Friday 27^th March) at the Easter Bonnet Parade.

Finally, our next PTA meeting is on Tuesday 28^th April, 19:45 at The Florentine. Everyone welcome!

Year 1 & 2 - KS1 are continuing with their topic of 'Brilliant Britain' and will be learning about the Titanic. you can see more information about what they will be learning here.

Reception - The topic in Reception is 'People who help us'. You can read more about the learning here.

Preschool - The theme is 'On the Farm'.

Notes about the calendar: 'Friendly Friday' - every 4th Friday that the children are in school parents will be invited into classrooms from when they open at 8:40am until when the bell rings at 8:55am.

School Term Dates 2025-26

Breakfast & After School Club Bookings

Please ensure you book your child into clubs in advance. It is becoming a regular occurrence that children are arriving in clubs without a booking. We need to ensure safe staffing levels and in order to do this we need to know how many children to expect. We appreciate that occasionally there are last minute changes, however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to take children at the last minute who are not booked in.

Preschool children must be booked in at least 7 days in advance as we have to adhere to strict staffing ratios.
