Headteacher's Welcome It is amazing to see how well our new Reception children have settled into routines and what confidence they are already showing - well done everyone! The Year 1 children have really impressed me with the independence they are showing with their learning and Year 2 have been setting a super example to the rest of school with their behaviour in school - well done everyone! Building Work in School As you will have seen the building work is underway for our new Preschool! It is very exciting!!! We still have some places remaining for our January intake so please spread the word if you know anyone looking for a place for a 3 or 4 year old. Thanks to everyone for their patience whilst we get into the new routines for Breakfast and After School Club. Just a reminder of what we need parents to do... Breakfast Club – Please press the button on the usual buzzer; this will alert staff in the hall that a child is arriving. Please then take your child to the main entrance where they will be collected by a member of the Breakfast Club Team.
After School Club – Please press the button on the usual buzzer and wait a few moments so that staff can see which parent is collecting. Then walk up to the main entrance and a member of ASC staff will bring your child to you.
Extra-Curricular Clubs: Please wait on the pavement and collect your child from the main gate. Please be patient whilst staff navigate the new system – our priority is always the safety of our children. There will be a skip on the road at the front of school and there will also be some deliveries; please bear this in mind when choosing where to park in the mornings. |
A belated welcome back everyone! Now that the children are settled in to their new school routines, it's time to kick start the PTA events for this autumn term! We are holding our next meeting on Tuesday 23rd September, 19:45 at The Florentine. Please do join us - you can find out more about the PTA's fundraising efforts, how the funds raised have been used and what future projects are planned for 2025-26. We look forward to parents’ suggestions and are always looking for volunteers to join the PTA and contribute in whatever way they can.
Thank you also for all your orders of preloved uniform this week. This has raised almost £150 for the school already! The website has been updated but feel free to message Lu Taylor for any orders - 07989 447678. All orders will be delivered to the Office Reception the next school day.
If you have any queries, please get in touch - nethergreeninfantsschoolpta@

Breakfast and After School Club Bookings
We are finding that lots of parents are booking last minute for Breakfast and After School Club; whilst we know parents value the flexibility to do this we do ask that where possible parents book in advance so we can ensure safe staffing levels.

Notes from the Teachers Waterproof Coats Unless it is heavy rain the children will play outside every day at morning playtime and lunchtime. Please ensure your child has a waterproof coat everyday - we seem to be heading quickly into Autumn! Year 1 Phonics Talk It was great that s parents were able to join us for our Year 1 phonics talk. We know that not all parents are able to attend during the school day - all Y1 children brought a booklet home explaining the key aspects of how we teach phonics. Please spend some time familiarising yourself with this and feel free to ask your child's class teacher if you have any questions. You can speak to your child's class teacher at the end of the school day or email them via the class email. Learning Information for this Term Specific learning information for each year group has been uploaded to the Key Stage pages of the website. Please follow the links:- Foundation Stage (Reception) Information In addition to the half term Parent Overview, there is also a Weekly Newsletter for parents of children in Reception which gives details of specific leaning each week in school and how this can be supported at home. This can be found each week on the Foundation Stage page of the website. Click Here. Contact with Teachers If you need to contact your child's class teacher you may email them using the class email which is the name of the class as follows e.g. bears@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk, koalas@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk etc Please do not expect an immediate response as teachers are teaching all day and are not expected to reply to emails during evenings and weekends. For a quick chat you can wait at the end of the day. For urgent messages please contact the school office. |
