Nether Green Infant School Governing Board Vision |
Constitution and Vision
The role of the Governing Board is to support and challenge the school's senior leaders. The Governing body aims to give every pupil the best possible start in life by ensuring that they have access to a high standard of education, a well-rounded curriculum, and an inclusive, community culture centred around the school values.
At NGIS, the Governing Body has 12 members: 3 staff, 5 parents, and 4 members from the local community. Except for the staff members, we are all volunteers who feel privileged to be part of NGIS and are committed to creating a school with a strong ethos, where every child is valued, respects others, and is inspired to be a confident learner.
Governing Board Core Functions
In particular, the governing board has four core functions to:
- Ensure there is clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
- Hold the executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the School and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
- Oversee the financial performance of the School and make sure its money is well spent
- Ensure the voices of all school stakeholders are heard.
