Headteacher's Welcome We have had a super week in school this week! The Y1 and Y2 children had a brilliant time learning all about seasides in the past as part of their learning in history. They enjoyed a fun and interactive workshop where they were able to dress up in old fashioned clothing, play with old toys and even eat some hokey pokey (ice cream!) -which went down very well! Many thanks to those that were able to attend the first PTA meeting of this school year on Tuesday evening. We had a super productive meeting and started to get dates in the diary for lots of exciting fund raising events!
We’re going to start off PTA proceedings with a cake sale, always popular with the children (and grown-ups)! This will be held on Friday 10th October. Children will be invited to choose their cakes after lunch and any remaining cakes will be sold outside after school. If you’d like your child to buy one, it would be great if you could pop 50p in their book bag that morning. Any donations of cakes, buns and biscuits (baked or bought) would be gratefully received and can be brought to the office from 8.30 am on Friday morning. They can be dropped off on Thursday (9th October) before school pick up if that works better. Please remember we are a nut free school.
Our first dress as you please day of this school year will be on Wednesday 22nd October. If your child would like to showcase their favourite fancy dress costume or simply model their favourite outfit, please pop £1 in their book bag.
Last year, our November fair raised a whopping £480 for the school in just over 1 hr. – a target to beat this year! This year’s Christmas Fair will take place on Friday 28th November, 3.20-4.30 pm in the School Hall. There will be cake and uniform sales as well as some seasonal specials – the Elfridges store and Christmas clothing sales! We need lots of kind donations of unwanted gifts in new or like new condition so that the children can purchase gifts for their loved ones at Elfridges. We would also be very grateful for any outgrown school uniform and Christmas clothing (jumpers, pyjamas, etc.). There will be a box outside of school over the next few weeks to collect these. More detail to follow in the coming weeks but please put the date in your diary and start your clear outs!
