Headteacher's Welcome

The children in Year 1 and Year 2 have been out into Fulwood this week trying out their map work skills as part of their learning in Geography. They were so sensible - well done!

This half term we have been focusing on our school value of Teamwork. We have been reading stories and talking about how we can be a good team player by helping others. We have also thought about how everyone has different talents and skills and by bringing all these skills together we can do amazing things!

Together Everyone Achieves More

Clubs go live at 7:00pm on Tuesday 6th February. Please chat to your child about which clubs they would like to do - places will not be refunded if you change your mind. 

A few things to note:-

• 'Active Adventure Club' - this is a new club on a Monday. The theme is Treasure Island - it includes elements of dance, gymnastics, pilates, games and performing arts. 
• Forest Skills Club have requested Year 1 and Year 2 only - no Reception.
• Art Club is changing to Friday instead of Thursday.

Dates to note:-

• There are no sessions on Tues 12th and Thurs 14th Mar as it is Parents' Evening in school and all rooms are required. 
• There is no FabLab on Wed 13th Mar
• There is no Choir on Thurs 28th Mar (last day of term)

If you have any junk modelling items at home (cardboard boxes, tubes etc) it would be great if you could bring them into school for the Reception children to use.

Messages  for Teachers 

Just a quick reminder that you are more than welcome to speak to class teachers at the end of the day if you have quick questions. 

The class email is the name of the class as follows e.g. bears@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk,  etc

Snacks in School 

We have noticed an increasing number of children bringing  additional snacks to school. Every morning all children are given the option of a piece of fruit (or veg) at snack time. If your child prefers to bring a piece of fresh fruit instead of this, they are welcome to do so and put it in their drawer. However, we request that processed fruit bars, cereal bars, biscuits and other snacks are not sent in as we have children in school with allergies and we need to be very careful about who is being exposed to different foods. If you are not sure whether your child is allowed to bring a particular food please check with their class teacher.

 Thank you for all your generous donations! Leftovers will be for sale outside school at the end of the day. 

• Dress as You Please next Friday. £1 in book bags please and kids can wear whatever they like (so long as it's suitable for school, including playtime!)
• Sponsored Leap on Thursday 29th February. Next week we'll be sending out details and sponsorship forms for our Leap Year event. Hopefully half term is a good time to ask friends and family if they'll support. It should be lots of fun!

Notes about the calendar: 'Fourth Friday' - every 4th Friday that the children are in school parents will be invited into classrooms from when they open at 8:40am until when the bell rings at 8:55am - this is now open to all year groups.
