Headteacher's Welcome

We have had another super week in school. One of the joys of my job is always to celebrate the children's success and it has been lovely over the past couple of weeks to see children making such huge steps of progress in their learning. From fabulous independence in Reception, with children working on tasks on their own and cooperating with each other to children in Y2 writing stories which are exciting to read, have fantastic spelling and handwriting! I have also visited some RE lessons in the past week where I have been amazed by the knowledge that children have and their ability to articulate this. Well done everybody!

Yesterday the children had a fabulous visit from 'Concerteenies' who shared the story of 'Blown Away' with live musical accompaniment - the children loved it!

Online Safety Assembly

This week the children have all shared the story 'The Adventures of Smartie the Penguin' - Y1 & Y2 had an assembly with Mrs Keeling and Reception have listened to and discussed the story in their classes. The main message of the story is about the importance of asking a grown up if you are not sure about anything online.

You can look at and read the story for yourself here so that you can reinforce this message with children at home.

Extra-Curricular Clubs
Clubs for next half term will go live on Tuesday 10th December at 7:00pm. Please chat to your child before booking about which clubs they would like to do as we are not able to give refunds. As the nights are drawing in much earlier and it is likely to be very cold we are not doing any outdoor sports clubs next half term. A couple of things to note:-
  • We have a new multi-skills sporty club on a Tuesday in the hall after school - The children will participate in a variety of physical activities which will develop their agility, balance and co-ordination. They will engage in fun, active games focused around the development of their fundamental movement skills. This is open to Y1 &Y2.
  • French club starts in week 2 - there is no session on 8th January.
A full description of each club can be found here.
Traffic Outside School
Thank You! We have noticed there have been fewer cars coming onto the road outside since our Road Safety Offices were outside school a few weeks ago. This is helping it to be safer for our children outside school - Thank You!!
