Headteacher's Welcome

I hope you all had a fabulous half term. It is lovely to finally see some sunshine and the spring flowers popping up around us.

We've had a great first week back in school. This term we are focusing on the School Value of 'Perseverance'. On Monday, in our assembly, we talked about all the things that we are good at - there were lots of talents shared; bike riding, gymnastics, reading, drawing, singing, playing football, dancing - the list went on! We then talked about how we had ended up good at them - by trying and trying, even when things are tricky!

The children in Y1 and Y2 have been making 'Fabric Faces' as part of their Design and Technology learning. They have been exploring different materials and ways of joining materials including sewing - there was definitely lots of perseverance required here!!!

You can see more of our Fabulous Fabric Faces  here.

Sheffield Local Authority SEND Ofsted Inspection

We have received official notification that Sheffield is now in an Area SENDAP (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities and Alternative Provision) Inspection Period. The inspection will commence on Monday, 24th February 2025, and will run for three weeks, concluding on Friday, 14th March 2025.

Purpose of the Inspection

The inspection will provide an independent and external evaluation of how effectively Sheffield’s local area partnership—including the council, education providers, health services, and social care—identifies, assesses, and meets the needs of children and young people with SEND.

Seeking Views from the Sheffield Community

To ensure the voices of children, young people, families, and professionals are heard, we would like as many people as possible to take part in the following survey:

All children will receive a £1 book token that can be exchanged for a book in certain book shops or used as a discount when buying a book of choice.

We hope you enjoyed the February half term and that the children were encouraged to do lots of reading for the Sponsored Reading Challenge. Certificates will be awarded to all that participated  and the winner in each class will be awarded the £5 book token once all forms have been collected in.

Thank you to all who took part in Pyjama Day on Friday 14th February. Our target was to raise £150 for The Children’s Hospital Charity and we exceeded this, raising £270! The cake sale also raised £148 for the school. Thank you for your generous donations.

Messages From the Teachers

Requests...please could we have...?

Year 1 & 2

  • Cups Please - As part of our music unit of work next half term, we are going to be exploring elements of music using cups. Please could we ask that your child bring in a plastic cup if possible (along the lines of the size/strength of the small children’s IKEA plastic cups) that they can use in our music lessons and then bring back home to play if they so wish at the end of the half term. If the cup could be brought into school for w/c 10th March (or sooner if you wish) we can then source any extra cups needed for children who may not have one. Please write your child’s name on their cup if you would specifically like the same one back.

For Y1 Science - only need for Year 1 but if you have any spares please send in!

  • Kitchen Roll tubes - (for week 3)
  • Bubble Wrap - (week 4)
