Perseverance - The Sheffield Half Marathon!
This week, as part of our focus on our school value 'Perseverance', Mrs Hawkins talked to the children about challenges and how sometimes we have to really persevere to achieve things. On Sunday 23rd March Mrs Hawkins and Mrs Hunter will be doing the Sheffield Half Marathon. Mrs Hawkins talked about how this is a really big, difficult challenge and that through lots of hard work, determination and perseverance, we are hopeful that we will get to the finish line! We also talked to the children about why we have decided to do this personal challenge and the achievement that will come with completing the race (hopefully!). We are also both hoping to raise money for charities.
Mrs Hunter is raising money in memory of her sister in law, who sadly passed away last year from sarcoma; the Special Needs school that she worked in are raising money to create a sensory garden in her memory.
Mrs Hawkins is running as part of a team raising money for Weston Park Hospital, which supports vital research and treatment for cancer patients in Sheffield.
We know that most of you will already know someone who is taking part and may be running yourselves, but if you would like to support us in our challenge, you can come along on the day to cheer us on or make a donation using the links below.

Active Homework
Active Science!
After what has been a super "Science Week' in school, it's time to put your science skills into practice!
Investigate what makes the best Cup and Ball Toy.
Your Science skills can be used to experiment: the best material, the easiest or trickiest length of string/or size of cup, the number of times you can catch the ball in 1 minute (is the oldest person in your house the most accurate?! Does a week of practice improve your score?). These are just some investigation ideas to get you started, we're sure you can think of some more!

Have you got any old scooters, toy prams or pushchairs that you no longer need? Our Butterflies class would love to have more wheeled toys to play with. If you do have any please bring to the school office. Thanks!
