Headteacher's Welcome

We have had a super week in school this week! The children had a fabulous time on Tuesday taking part in the Chinese New Year Dance workshop. They enjoyed learning about how people will be celebrating the Year of the Snake and and learnt some fabulous dance moves with some great props. You can see some more photos on the school learning gallery.

PJ Day and Cake Sale – Fri 14th Feb

A reminder that the Valentine’s Day cake sale and Theo’s Pyjama Day is next Friday!

Happy Valentine's Day! | Valentine's cakes and biscuits in a… | Flickr

Any donations of cakes, buns and biscuits (baked or bought) would be gratefully received and can be brought to the office from 8.30am on Friday morning. They can also be dropped off on Thursday (13th) before school pick up if that works better.

Please remember we are a nut free school. If you are making home baked goods, please attach a list of ingredients to the named container.

Each class will be invited to choose their cakes after lunch. If you’d like your child to buy one, it would be great if you could pop 50p in their book bag. We also invite parents to buy any remaining cakes after school, outside from 3pm. Please ensure children with allergies have their cake clearly labelled.

The Theo’s Pyjama Day is to raise money for The Sheffield Children’s Hospital. If you would like to support this, please let your child choose their snazziest pyjamas to wear to school! (Please make sure they are warm enough for a normal school day as the children will still be going out into the playground.) Donations can be made via our donation page here. We would love to meet our target of £150.

 Other imminent activities are:

The NSPCC will be hosting  an Online Safety Talk for parents and carers taking place on Wednesday 30th April at 9:30am. We have decided to do this online this year to hopefully enable more parents to attend. We will send more details of how to take part closer to the time.

Hopscotch DIY!

Hopscotch is a fundamental movement skill, which helps children access a whole range of sports.

Whatever the weather, you can make a DIY hopscotch. From drawing on the garden floor area with chalks, to making your own indoor hopscotch from old cardboard boxes (see image), you can have lots of fun and develop vital physical skills.
