Headteacher's Welcome

We have had a super week in school this week. We have certainly been enjoying the sunshine - it has been lovely to see the children able to play outside. It has been great to welcome parents into school too to look at books and meet with teachers - there were so many happy parents leaving, proud of the huge steps in progress all the children have made!

Well done to our School Council for helping to keep us all safe!

Wed 19th March, was a national road safety day organised by the road safety charity, Brake. The children talked about important aspects of road safety in their classes.

Clubs - Summer Term 1
Clubs will go live next Tues 25th March at 7:00pm. A few things to note...
  • Full details of all of the clubs are here - please check the details before you book
  • New club - Tennis on Mondays (Y1 & Y2)
  • Forest School - unfortunately we have had to increase the prices - this is due to additional costs incurred by Foresteers
  • Yoga has moved to a Monday
  • Choir - this will be a block of 8 sessions which will take us into Summer 2 for our Summer Concert - if your child wants to take part in the summer concert they need to book onto the full block. There is no Choir in week 1 due to the Easter Bonnet Parade and the bank holiday.

Messages From the Teachers

Polite reminder - Birthday Treats

We know that birthdays are very special times for young children and they like nothing more than celebrating with their friends. However, please could we ask that you don't send in sweets, chocolates, cakes or other edible treats on your child's birthday for them to share with their friends. Alongside supporting healthy eating, we have lots of children in school with allergies and it can make it very difficult when food arrives without us having had chance to check ingredients, permissions etc.

Thank you!

Contact with Teachers

If you need to contact your child's class teacher you may email them using the class email which is the name of the class as follows e.g. bears@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk, koalas@nethergreen-inf.sheffield.sch.uk etc

Please do not expect an immediate response as teachers are teaching all day and are not expected to reply to emails during evenings and weekends. For a quick chat you can wait at the end of the day. For urgent messages please contact the school office.

Active Homework
What happens to my body when I exercise?
As we develop our physical skills, it's also important to develop our awareness of what happens to our bodies when we exercise.
Investigate the following statement. (How many different answers/explanations can you give to end the sentence.)
The longer I run, the more.....
Thanks for the donations! The Butterflies children are loving the prams and scooters - we now have plenty!
