Headteacher's Welcome

It's been another busy week in school with lots going on!  Mrs Staniforth has been settling well into a new role as After School Club Leader and has also been visiting lots of the classrooms to get to know the children as well as getting to know them at lunchtimes. A group of Year 2 children have been to Lydgate this afternoon too for an Athletics event.

Our new Recorder Club is up and running and I was delighted to hear a short performance yesterday of a piece they had learnt. They all managed to read the music, play the correct note, the correct rhythm and listen to each other and play along with the backing track - it was great!

Well Done Everyone!

  Preschool Update

We have had lots of interest in our Preschool and are currently in the process of putting together the Admissions Policy which will enable us to allocate places. We are planning to be in a position to confirm places for January starters before we break up for the summer. Priority will go to children with siblings and those who live in catchment so if you have not yet expressed an interest please do so ASAP.

You might have spotted our advert which is making its way round the community - please share this information with anyone you know who has preschool aged children.

NHS - Headlice & Nits

We’re very excited about the Summer Fair which is next Friday (20th June) after school! Many thanks to those that have volunteered to help set up and/or man a stall/game on the day. There are still some spots up for grabs – check the board outside school. The number of volunteers we get is crucial to the running of all of the stalls and activities, so please help out if you can. Thanks also to everyone who’s donated treasure jars and tombola prizes. There’s still time to donate these – more info below:

  • Treasure Jars: Fill a jam jar with toys and treats, i.e. sweets, stickers, craft items, tattoos, loom bands, small toys, lego, etc.! Get rid of that party bag stuff!! But no nuts please!
  • Bottle Tombola Prizes: Please donate any bottles of beer, spirits, wine, olive oil, fizz, etc. If you can pop it in a bottle bag too, that’d be great!
  • Kids Tombola: If you have any duplicate / spare gifts or very good quality games / toys, we’d much appreciate you donating these.

There will be a donations box outside school over the next few weeks, or alternatively please leave with the lovely Office Team.

Soooo many amazing prizes have been donated to the raffle this year! Rounds of golf, concert tickets, tennis camp tickets, restaurant vouchers, beauty treatments, brewery tours, etc. To have a chance at winning, please make sure to get your raffle tickets either from the School Office, via one of the school WhatsApp groups or by emailing us (see below). We’ll even fill out the stubs for you!!

We’re looking forward to what we hope will be another brilliant Summer Fair for everyone to enjoy! The weather forecast is looking good so far!!

Thank you for your continued support!

Specific learning information for each year group has been uploaded to the Key Stage pages of the website. Please follow the links:-

Year 1 & 2 (KS1) This term the topic of 'Grow, grow, grow!' is continuing in Y1 & Y2

KS1 classes - As part of our Art topic this half term we are making paper/cardboard sculptures.  If you are able to collect any toilet roll/kitchen roll tubes to bring into school for next week that would be great.

Foundation Stage (Reception)  Information

In addition to the half term Parent Overview, there is also a Weekly Newsletter for parents of children in Reception which gives details of specific leaning each week in school and how this can be supported at home.

This can be found each week on the Foundation Stage page of the website. Click Here.
